American Baptist College Needs Your Help!
The COVID-19 crisis is creating hardship for ABC students in many ways. Because of this unprecedented pandemic, we need American Baptist College friends and supporters now more than ever before. During this difficult period, as president of the college, I felt it necessary to call our students and see how they are coping with the disruption of the Spring Semester and adjusting to e-learning online. I was pleased to discover a positive resilient spirit among our students even though many of them are now facing significant financial hardship. Due to the statewide sheltering at home protocol, the novel coronavirus pandemic has created unexpected hardship related to unemployment, housing, course materials, technology, health care, and child care, and more.
Consequently, in response to our student needs, I am pleased to announce that ABC has created an Emergency Grant Fund to help students and others in the ABC community who are experiencing an unexpected financial crisis.
Your support is key to our students’ ability to continue with their studies and be the faith and social justice leaders so crucially needed in their communities.
We are sensitive to the fact that the pandemic is likely affecting you and the lives of your loved ones in many ways. And we understand your financial situation and philanthropic priorities may temporarily change. However, you remain incredibly important to our mission, especially right now. To the extent that you are capable of giving, please support ABC during this critical time. To continue preparing servant leaders for diverse vocations who will serve those most affected by this pandemic, we need you. Many people during times of uncertainty turn to their religious leaders for guidance, counseling, and support. Your gift now will ensure that ABC can continue to create a more just world, even in the wake of a global crisis. Please direct your gift to the ABC Emergency Grant Fund, or any other fund you may choose. Select the ABC Emergency Grant Fund drop-down menu on our giving page.
Be safe and thank you for all the ways that you have supported and continue to support ABC!
