The following types of information may be collected in aggregate to provide campus communicators, site owners, content managers, designers, and IT specialists with insights into visitor behavior. This information helps improve American Baptist College’s website and access to College information:

  • The Internet Protocol (IP) address of the computer and the name of the internet domain used to access the Internet.
  • IP addresses of websites that link directly to sites within the abcnash.edu domain.
  • The pages visited (“requested”) during a session.
  • The web browser and operating system used to access a site within the abcnash.edu domain.
  • The device used to access a site within the abcnash.edu domain.

At American Baptist College, we retain your personal data: 

  • If you leave a comment on our College blog. The comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
  • If you complete a contact form. The information you provide will be retained indefinitely and stored securely.
  • If you register an account. For registered users, personal information provided in their user profiles is stored securely. Users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time, with the exception of their username. Website administrators also have the ability to view and edit this information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on our site or have left comments, you have the right to request an exported file containing the personal data we hold about you, including any information you've provided. Additionally, you can ask us to erase any personal data we have about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

  • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). HIPAA ensures the confidentiality and integrity of individuals' medical records and personal health information.
  • General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). GDPR safeguards the privacy and personal data of EU citizens and international students, reinforcing our commitment to global data protection standards.
  • Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. Title IX prohibits discrimination based on sex in educational programs and activities receiving federal financial assistance, fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
  • Tennessee Identity Theft Deterrence Act. This act mandates the protection of personal information to deter identity theft, underscoring our commitment to preventing unauthorized access to sensitive data.
