American Baptist College, (ABC) a four-year Christian liberal art, historically Black College, will spread its wings this weekend in Milwaukee, Beloit, Kenosha and Racine Wisconsin. It’s called ABC Days when representatives from the college come to the area to preach, promote the institution and do fund-raising and recruiting. American Baptist College, located in Nashville, TN, will have students, alumni and staff, preaching at 32 churches this weekend. This is a long-standing tradition that allows the College to showcase its students and give students a chance to preach before an audience beyond classroom sessions at ABC.
“We are delighted for the numerous churches in the Milwaukee area to host our students and alumni. There are many connections here and this opportunity is valuable to us, said Dr. Forrest Harris, Sr., president of ABC. Recent alumni and upper-level students are excited to have this experience and to connect with alumni from the area.
ABC Days, coordinator, Rev. Andre’ Trice says this is a true blessing. “Our students know this is a valuable opportunity and have been preparing for weeks. They want to present the very best of themselves and further demonstrate the lessons they have learned at ABC.”
The ABC Days experience is what will assist students in their further pursuits in becoming pastors and ministers alike. It is a moment where students can put their educational and spiritual development to the test and preach the word to various church congregants in communities unlike their own. The ABC Days experience ends on Sunday with President Harris speaking at the ABC Rally at Christ the King Baptist Church. The churches participating in ABC Days are listed below:
