Dear ABC Scholars,
I trust you are enjoying your summer break and utilizing your time of academic rest to achieve your personal and professional goals. Many of you are participating in internships, spending time with family, and preparing for summer classes. We are hopeful your summer break will result in your return to school with a fresh perspective and renewed for your academic pursuit of obtaining your degree.
As you are becoming replenished for your matriculation process, we as an institution are preparing for your return through renewed campus-wide strategic efforts that will be implemented beginning this Fall. One major change you will notice will be the adjustment to our first day of classes. Traditionally, we have begun classes during the third week of August. The traditional later start in August has resulted in the end date of the semester to occur during the second week of December. This has often proved to be a burden for students, staff and faculty, with only a month between the end of the fall semester and beginning of the spring semester. Additionally, the previous semester end date in December would make holiday travel a challenge for those who must plan for long distance and international travel. With these factors in mind, we have adjusted the academic calendar to allow for an earlier start date for the fall semester. Therefore, we will begin the Fall 2019 semester on Monday, August 5, 2019 and the end date for the semester will be Tuesday, November 26, 2019.
The academic calendar has been included in this correspondence to ensure you have time to become familiar with these date adjustments for the upcoming fall semester. If you have any questions or challenges regarding these changes, we welcome you to contact Student Success Services at studentsuccess@abcnash.edu. Continue to have a productive summer break. We look forward to seeing you upon your return on Monday, August 5, 2019.
